I wish I could think of a reason I gamble besides the excitement. I have had a wonderful life and family and don't know how to quit doing this to myself. So many similar times recalled in the reading. Others in their differences valuable too. All forcing self-examination. The book is not only a record of one life, but a statement about gambling addiction that links around us all. As Margaret Mead said so prophetically for the place of women in society, 'Never doubt that a small group of individuals can change the world, indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.'
